Introduction
W15 Escape is a stylish, six-bedroom boutique hotel on a hillock in Ahangama on Sri Lanka's south coast. It blends Asian and Scandinavian design with luxurious tropical living. This century-old village home has been completely refurbished maintaining old architectural features of columns and verandahs. A new wing houses the well-designed suites. Hotel interiors are light and airy with white being the dominant colour. An eclectic mix of furniture, sculptures and art, most designed by the owners themselves, gives the interiors an elegant feel. Spend your day lazing about by the poolside with spectacular views of the Indian Ocean and dine on fusion cuisine. The sandy beaches of Ahangama are a five minute stroll away. The seas are safe for swimming, snorkelling and surfing during peak season. Although situated on the land side, the sea is just across the roadway and can be viewed from the gardens.
Accommodation
The six suites are designed with a front verandah opening on to the gardens and an enclosed small garden in the rear. The gleaming white bedroom interiors are stylishly decorated and furnished with king-sized beds dressed in fine linen. In-room facilities include a/c, overhead fans, mini-fridge, tea/coffee facility, safe, bathrobes and slippers. There is no television by choice. The ensuite open air bathrooms have h/w showers and open out to a small private garden.
Facilities
The reception, lounge, and the main kitchen are housed in the old building with verandahs that open on to the gardens. Wi-Fi in the reception area. Dining is in the open-sided garden pavilion. Sri Lankan and western fusion cuisine is served prepared with local produce. Take in the spectacular sunsets at the poolside pavilion. The 60ft infinity swimming pool is edged by a terrace with sun loungers. Gardens, scattered with coconut palms, have night-time mood lighting.
