Introduction

Ubuntu Villas is a stylish eight-bedroom hotel on the beachfront of Kamburugamuwa, south of the popular South Coast resort of Mirissa. Nestled in a lush garden, it is the sister property of Lantern just up the beach. Similar to its sister property Lantern located few metres away, Ubuntu Villas has polished cement flooring and open-plan living area with a kitchenette which opens out to the pool with views of the stunning beach. The living area is furnished with cosy sofas and decorated with art pieces but most importantly the glass screen doors affords views of the pool, the manicured gardens and the beach. In addition to the living area, guests can also relax on the loungers next to the pool.

Accommodation

There are two types of rooms at Ubuntu Villas – Courtyard rooms and Ocean view rooms. All rooms are spacious, air-conditioned and are fitted with a king-sized bed, coffee and tea making facilities, satellite TV, safe and Wi-Fi. The ensuite bathroom comes with an oval shaped bathtub and a walk-in shower.

Ocean View Room: Designed to let in constant sea breeze through the large sliding doors, these spacious rooms offer scenic views of the Indian Ocean. Enjoy the best of amenities including a bathtub that overlooks the beach during your stay.

Courtyard Room: Complete with courtyard garden views, these expansive rooms are designed similar to the Ocean View Room. Its ensuite bathroom includes plenty of wardrobe space and an indoor/outdoor shower.

Facilities

Ubuntu Villas offers a variety of Sri Lankan and western dishes for diners with the option of vegetarian which could be complemented with a range of wines or high spirits from the bar. The hotel has a pool with a lounge area and also offers a selection of spa treatments.

Location

Ubuntu Villas is located on the beachfront of Kamburugamuwa, south of Mirissa. It is three hours from the Colombo Airport and 45 minutes from Galle Fort. Alternatively, there’s a daily air taxi to Koggala which is around 45 mins from the hotel.
