Introduction
The Saffron House is a four-bedroom villa in Dickwella set on a three-acre coconut grove that enjoys a scenic setting perched on a headland on Sri Lanka's south coast. The villa has a laid-back feel and looks down on to the picturesque Hiriketiya Bay. Its open spaces and verandas offer panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and consists of an open-plan living and dining area that merges with the gardens and three spacious bedrooms. All interiors are contemporary in style. There is also a separate bedroom located downhill closer to the sea, a romantic setting for a couple. The lush tropical gardens are scattered with coconut palm, flowering plants and fruit trees that attract many birds. The villa is managed by a Sri Lankan couple who will prepare sumptuous meals and ensure you have a relaxing holiday. The sea fronting the villa is not suitable for swimming, but there is a secluded beach a short stroll away that is safe for swimming during the season. The Saffron House is booked as a whole villa and can accommodate up to eight guests. The high elevation and terraced sloping gardens can be dangerous for small children.
Accommodation
There are four ensuite bedrooms of which three are set within the main house and opens out to the gardens, swimming pool and sea views. The fourth bedroom is located down hill and closer to the sea. The spacious bedrooms are furnished with king-size four-poster beds dressed in fine linen and equipped with a/c and overhead fans. Ensuite bathrooms have h/w showers.
Facilities
The open-plan living and dining areas open out to the gardens and an infinity swimming pool, which is set at the edge of the hill looking out to sea. Other facilities include Wi-Fi, iPod dock and fully-equipped kitchen. Discuss your meal preferences with the chef and she will prepare fabulous Sri Lankan meals, western dishes, home baked cakes and desserts. Guests are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages. There is no direct access to the sea, but the 100m rocky coastline which surrounds the headland is sandwiched on either side by two secluded bays where swimming is safe from December to April.

The Saffron House is 15km away from Dondra Head, the southernmost tip of Sri Lanka, and the historic Galle Fort is 45 minutes away.
