Introduction
The Bartizan is a ten-bedroom boutique hotel which blends seamlessly with the old world charm of the historical Galle Fort’s ramparts and turrets. The hotel has one of the most enviable locations inside the fort, bordering both Pedlar and Rampart Streets with 180 degree views across the shimmering Indian Ocean. Although the Bartizan is situated inside the Fort the property excludes a spacious airy feel with its open ground floor seating area, wide balconies and large windows. One of the best features is its rooftop terrace with a recreated Bartizan that could pass muster as an original feature of the Fort.

Breakfast is served in the Dutch-style cobblestone courtyard on the grounds floor or on your balcony. The hotel does not serve dinner as many of the best restaurants are a few minutes’ walk away from the hotel; breakfasts, though, receive praise.
