Talaramba Reef Vatura

Introduction

Villa Vatura is one of two Sri Lanka beach villas near Mirissa owned by Talaramba Reef. It adjoins with Villa Sulanga but they have separate facilities, including individual swimming pools. With sprawling gardens, spacious rooms, and a personalised service, this is an ideal location for a relaxing beach holiday or even a special family celebration. Each villa can house up to 12 guests and the villas can be booked separately or together. `Vatura’ (meaning water in Sinhalese) is a spacious two-storey beach villa designed with polished cement floors, slatted timber doors, and broad verandas on either side. There are living and dining areas on the ground floor, as well as a TV lounge. Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and interiors are tastefully decorated with natural colours, plush sofas and king size beds. The extensive gardens are scattered with coconut and Frangipani trees which are often visited by numerous birds.

Accommodation

There are four a/c double rooms, three on the upper floor and one on the ground floor. All bedrooms open on to a balcony or veranda which overlooks the garden and sea beyond. Bedrooms are furnished with king-sized four-poster beds dressed in fine white linen. Extra beds are available upon request. Ensuite bathrooms have twin wash basins, bathtub and h/w shower.

Facilities

Ground floor consists of a living room opening out to a spacious veranda and a separate TV lounge equipped with cable TV, DVD player, books and board games. The garden veranda has a 10-seater dining table. Meals are served on the verandah, in your private balcony or in the gardens: the villa rate includes Sri Lankan or western breakfast, other meals are at cost price. Guests can bring their own alcohol. Other villa facilities include: coffee/tea facilities, Wi-Fi, board games, petanque and croquet, four bicycles, surf boards and boogie boards. Villa Vatura has its own private pool and the gardens are well-equipped with loungers and chairs for dining under the stars or just lazing around. The sea right in front of Villa Vatura is not suitable for swimming due to the reef, but a five minute stroll takes you to a secluded stretch of beach that is ideal for swimming during the season (December to April). Villa Vatura is staffed with a manager, cook and housekeeping staff.

Location

Talaramba Reef Vatura is set in sprawling gardens edged by turquoise seas in the village of Talaramba near Mirissa, 40 kms south of Galle. The journey from Colombo’s international airport will take approximately two-and-a-half hours sown the Southern Highway, or hop on an air taxi to Koggala.
