Talaramba Reef Sulanga

Introduction

Talaramba Reef Sulanga is one of two Sri Lanka beach villas near Mirissa owned by Talaramba Reef. It adjoins with Talaramba Reef Vatura but they have separate facilities, including individual swimming pools. With sprawling gardens, spacious rooms, and a personalised service, this is an ideal location for a relaxing beach holiday or even a special family celebration. Each villa can house up to 12 guests and the villas can be booked separately or together. 'Sulanga' (meaning breeze in Sinhalese) is a spacious beach villa with polished cement floors, slatted timber doors and broad verandas on either side, with living and dining rooms on the ground floor which open out to gardens scattered with coconut and Frangipani trees. Bedrooms are spacious and comfortably furnished and interiors are tastefully decorated with natural colours, plush sofas and king-sized beds.

Talaramba Reef Sulanga consists of four a/c bedrooms, of which three are on the upper floor and one is on the ground floor. All bedrooms are double rooms and have a balcony or veranda which overlooks the garden and sea beyond. Bedrooms are furnished with king-sized four-poster beds dressed in fine white linen. Extra beds are available upon request. The ground floor bedroom is equipped with satellite TV and DVD player. Ensuite bathrooms have twin wash basins, bathtub and h/w shower.

Facilities

The ground floor living room has a bar area and opens on both sides to a courtyard and veranda furnished with a ten-seater dining table. Meals are served on the veranda, on your private balcony or in the gardens. There is also a fully-equipped kitchen: the villa rate includes Sri Lankan or western breakfast, other meals are at cost price. The cook will also do the grocery shopping. Guests can bring their own alcohol. Other villa facilities include coffee/tea facilities, Wi-Fi, board games, petanque and croquet, four bicycles, surf boards and boogie boards. There are two swimming pools at Talaramba Reef – Sulanga has its own private pool. The gardens are well-equipped with loungers and chairs for dining under the stars or just lazing around. The sea right in front of Villa Sulanga is not suitable for swimming due to the reef. A five-minute stroll takes you to a secluded stretch of beach that is ideal for swimming during the season (December to April). Villa Sulanga is staffed with a manager, cook and housekeeping staff.

Location

Talaramba Reef Sulanga is set in sprawling gardens edged by turquoise seas in the village of Talaramba near Mirissa, 40 kms south of Galle. The journey from Colombo’s International Airport will take approximately two-and-a-half hours down the Southern Highway. Alternatively, take the air taxi to nearby Koggala.
