Introduction
Talalla House, sprawled along the pristine golden beach of Talalla, south of Galle, with an interrupted view of the Sri Lanka's spectacular south coast, is a stunning seven-bedroom villa. Surrounded by a lush garden with an inviting infinity pool, the villa’s contemporary architectural approach, using cement breeze-blocks to let in natural light and ventilation complimented with earthy tones, makes this a very appealing holiday getaway.
The spacious living area is complete with modern furnishings splashed with vibrant colours and the sliding doors opens on to a wooden deck and the infinity pool which also has a separate kid’s pool area. Take a short stroll across the tropical garden dotted with coconut trees where you will be greeted by a long private beach stretch.
The ground floor consists of the dining and living area, three bedrooms, kitchen, staff quarters, while the first floor has four bedrooms including the Master and Junior suites and the yoga studio. The second floor also referred to as the green roof has a 30m long garden with a vegetable and spice patch. It also has sofas and sun loungers so that guests can benefit from a stunning view of the entire area.
Accommodation
Five of the seven bedrooms are in the main house while the remaining two have access through the garden.
Garden Rooms: These rooms are comparatively smaller and can be accessed from the garden. Fitted with double beds, these have overhead fans and a unique open-air shower design that increases ventilation. The rooms open onto a porch with views of the lawn and the Indian Ocean. These rooms are ideal for teenagers, couples or couples with kids. These rooms are not included in the villa rate.
The Main House bedrooms are well-appointed with teak king-sized beds and custom designed teak furniture. Ensuite bathrooms have h/w showers. Of the five rooms, the four on the first floor open onto private balconies with sliding doors affording views of the stunning beach. The remaining room on the ground floor adjoining the living area has access to the wooden deck, pool and garden.
Master Suite: This spacious suite opens onto the balcony on one side and a terrace which serves as an outdoor lounge area or as a yoga studio. Similarly furnished as the bedrooms, the unique feature of this suite is that it has a bathtub on the balcony with a panoramic view of the surroundings. Junior: This suite also comes with a king-sized bed and ensuite bathroom with a bathtub on the balcony. The balcony of this suite is connected by a pivoting door to the balcony of the adjoining room, with the option of making it into larger apartment for families with smaller kids. In-room facilities: A/C, overhead fan and Wi-Fi.
Facilities
Talalla House has a 20-metre infinity pool and a small kid’s pool which can be accessed from the living area. The villa has a kitchen where all meals will be prepared by the in-house cook. Guests have the choice of Sri Lankan or European for breakfast. Lunch includes light snacks, soups, salads and sandwiches and for dinner prepare yourself for an elaborate spread of Sri Lankan rice and curry or western favourites. Guests are welcome to bring in their own alcohol or a selection of wines and spirits can be bought on request. The villa offers private massages, Ayurvedic treatments, yoga and meditation lessons for its guests. The staff can also help out guests in renting surf boards and getting a surfing instructor. The beach is easily accessible and is only a short walk from the villa. Talalla House have five English-speaking staff.
