Accommodation
The 300 rooms and suites are luxurious and have city or ocean views. In-room facilities include a/c, overhead fans, satellite TV, IDD telephone, mini-bar, tea/coffee facility, and electronic safe and ensuite bathrooms with h/w showers.
Deluxe Rooms (35 sq. metres): The 154 Deluxe Rooms have wooden flooring and balconies with sea views.
Luxury Rooms (35 sq. metres): The 60 Luxury Rooms are well equipped especially for corporate business travelers. Inaddition to the standard facilities, these rooms are equipped with lumbar supporting work chair and glass table, international plug sockets, laptop and cell phone chargers by the bedside.
Taj Club Rooms (48 sq. metres): Added in 2013, these 86 luxurious rooms have panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. Added benefits include access to the sixth floor Taj Club Lounge with special check-in facilities, complimentary hot breakfast buffet at the Taj Club Lounge; access to a small library and a dining area, complimentary access to the meeting rooms subject to availability and a dedicated concierge service from 6:00 a.m to 11:00 p.m.
Executive Suites (60 sq. metres): The four Executive Suites are spacious and have a small pantry area. Rooms open on to balconies with sea views.
Deluxe Suites (63 sq. metres): The 15 well equipped Deluxe Suites have a living space, dining area and bedroom with city or sea views.
Luxury Suites (95 sq. metres): Situated on the first, second and third floors, the three Luxury Suites have a separate living room and bedroom with spectacular ocean views.
Grand Luxury Suite (98 sq. metres): Set on the fourth and fifth floors, these two exclusive Grand Luxury Suites consists of a sitting area, dining space and pantry, and a bedroom.
Presidential Suite (316 sq. metres): Also known as the Tata Suite, this luxurious and spacious suite is perched on the top most floor and has panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. This 8-room suite located on the 7th floor includes a luxurious living and dining area for 10 guests; and a boardroom. The Tata Suite also has its private fitness area and in-suite spa facilities.

Taj Samudra has a choice of five restaurants which are popular dining venues in Colombo. Dine at the Latitude, an all day multi-cuisine restaurant; Navaratana, an Indian speciality restaurant serving vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes; Golden Dragon serving Szechuan cuisine; Steak & Grill House, a fine dining restaurant serving Continental cuisine; and Yumi that serves up Japanese cuisine. There is also a tea lounge and bar. Other hotel facilities include a swimming pool, several bars, night club, fitness centre, floodlit tennis courts, squash courts, beauty salon, and shopping arcade. There are seven banquet and meeting rooms including a 140 year old heritage block with Colonial period architecture.
