Stella Beach Villa

Introduction

Stella Beach Villa is a modern four-bedroom villa set on a coconut grove with a large beach frontage in Mirissa, a property much in the Sri Lankan style where living spaces merge seamlessly with the outdoors. The simple design of this villa consists of four bedrooms at the centre of the house opening out to a broad veranda that skirts right around the property, opening out to the gardens strewn with swaying palms and the turquoise seas beyond. Living and dining all happens outdoors on the veranda or the pool deck. Interiors are light and airy with whitewashed walls, polished cement floors and slatted doors and windows that invite the refreshing ocean breeze. The beach right in front of the villa is not suitable for swimming as there is a coral reef, but a short stroll will take you to a safe swimming area as well as two surf points. Stella Beach Villa can accommodate up to eight guests and is rented on a villa-only basis.

Stella Beach Villa is situated next door to the sister property, Stella Beach House – another wonderful four-bedroom beach villa. Both villas can be booked individually or together. Collectively, the two properties offer eight bedrooms and have a perfect setting for a special family celebration or even a romantic wedding.

Accommodation

There are four spacious a/c bedrooms – three doubles and one twin room – furnished with four-poster beds dressed in fine white linen and fitted with mosquito netting. All rooms also have overhead fans.

Rooms 1 & 2: These two spacious double rooms are located in the front of the house and open out to the swimming pool and sea beyond. They flow effortlessly into the ensuite bathrooms as there are no doorways, making the bedrooms even more spacious and airy.

Rooms 3 & 4: These double and twin rooms are located at the rear and are interconnecting. These two bedrooms open out to the side gardens and have spacious ensuite bathrooms with open-air showers.

Facilities

The front veranda leads to a timber pool deck where hours can be spent taking in the tropical sun. There is a 20 metre swimming pool with a shallow end for children. Other villa facilities include cable TV, DVD, iPod dock, day beds, sun loungers and sun umbrellas. Stella Beach Villa has a manager, housekeeper and cook who prepares tasty Sri Lankan cuisine. The cook will also help to purchase your groceries. Accompany him to the village market to buy vegetables and other produce. Fresh seafood including crabs, prawns and a wide variety of fish can be purchased directly from the local fisherman.

Location

The journey from Colombo’s international airport to Mirissa will take approximately three hours – or take the Air Taxi and fly to Koggala, which is approximately a 30 minute drive from here.
