Introduction

Santani Wellness Resort & Spa, one of Sri Lanka's finest, promises to pamper the mind, body and soul in the comforts of the lush mountains in Digana. Spread across 48 acres of verdure overlooking the Knuckles and Hunnasgiriya mountain ranges, Santani is the perfect place to relax and take refuge from the chaos of day-to-day city life. The latest addition to the portfolio of wellness resorts in Sri Lanka, Santani specialises in ayurvedic treatments but also offers relaxation treatments.

The main pavilion that houses the lounge and bar, and the restaurant is located on a hillock offering a stunning 360 degree view of the surrounding area.

Accommodation

Accommodation at Santani is offered in 18 rooms, out of which 16 are stand-alone Mountain View Chalets and the remaining two rooms are connected by a common living area and is located away from the chalets.

The 16 chalets are built on stilts to minimise the impact on the environment and offer spectacular views of the mountain ranges encouraging guests to engage in meditation. All rooms are furnished with a king-sized bed or twin beds, chairs, a wardrobe and ensuite bathroom with h/w shower. The remaining rooms are spacious and overlooks the adjoining paddy field. The rooms cannot be made into triples and the resort welcomes kids above the age of 12 years.

Facilities

Santani has a resident ayurvedic doctor, who guests can consult for specialised treatments such as stress relieving, detox and slimming, among others. They also provide a range of Ayurveda spa treatments to modern spa therapy. The resort has a 24m infinity pool and organises treks and nature walks upon request. Santani also has a yoga pavilion a media room with a 15-seat theatre, computer and internet facilities.

In terms of food, the resort prepares a delicious variety from Sri Lanka curries to western dishes, all highlighting fresh produce and great balance in flavour. Since Santani doesn't have a licensed bar as yet, guests are welcome to bring in their own alcohol beverages.

The restaurant also caters to different dietary restrictions and food preferences.

Location

Santani Wellness Resort and Spa is located in Digana, an hour from Kandy and approximately 3.5 hrs from the Colombo Airport. If you don’t like long drives, you can always opt to take a Cinnamon Air Taxi to Kandy and then take a 40 minute drive to the hotel.
