Nine Skies

Introduction

Nine Skies is a beautiful intimate boutique hotel tucked away just 15 minutes from the now-famous hill town of Ella. With breath-taking views of the tea fields and mountains beyond, this is an ideal place for some good old pampering, coupled with delicious gourmet meals and topped off with true Sri Lankan hospitality.

Accommodation

Nine Skies has five plush bedrooms that exude a perfect balance of luxury and charm, complete with ensuite bathrooms which include a bathtub. Washed in soothing shades, each bedroom has carpeted floors, full-length mirror, a comfy relaxing chair and opens out to a terrace boasting beautiful views. Each bathroom comes with toiletries, hairdryer and bathrobes. There is complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the property.

Demodara Rooms: The three Demodara Rooms – Welimada, Badulla and Hali-Ela – come with a sitting area and a private verandah. Welimada room faces towards a working tea factory and the Demodara Loop, both the valley and the garden. Badulla room overlooks the swimming pool and garden through French windows and the Hali-Ela room down the hallway is similar to Badulla but can be interconnected with the Nine Arches bedroom.

Nine Arches Bedroom: Most suited for friends travelling together, this room has twin beds and can be interconnected with a Demodara Room, making it ideal for a family.

Ella Rock Suite: Offering privacy and more than just a little bit of luxury, this suite comes with a sitting area, a four-poster king-sized bed and a view to remember through a pair of French windows. Great for a couple but also works well for a family as the sitting area can hold extra beds if needed.

Facilities

The attentive butlers at Nine Skies will be at your beck-and-call and the infinity swimming pool will ensure your stay is as relaxed as it can be. The extensive garden makes for a great space to enjoy breakfast or simply take a stroll. Meals are a treat with a choice of international and local cuisine, served with a warm smile. Guests are booked on an all-inclusive basis so all main meals, afternoon tea and any snacks and alcohol are included.

Ella is great for outdoor exploring and there’s plenty of tea estate walks and waterfall hunts that can be done around Nine Skies. Guests can even request for a butler guide if you wish.

Location

The expanse between Ella and Demodara houses the Nine Arch bridge, through which one can see nine skies framed by the arches and named after this, Nine Skies is just a 10-minute walk from the Demodara Railway Station and a 15-minute drive from Ella. Kandy is four hours away and the journey to Nuwara Eliya will take about one-and-a-half hours.
