Introduction
Set on a quiet beach stretch next to lively Hiriketiya Bay on Sri Lanka’s south coast, Nilwella Palms is a six-bedroom villa ideal for families or groups of friends seeking a private coastal retreat. The villa has a Bawa-esque design with an open-sided living and dining area that spills out into the garden and a wrap-around veranda and balcony, inviting in the cooling sea breeze and blurring the line between indoor and outdoor living, and is decorated in muted blue, grey and white tones that encourage relaxation. The chef is able to whip up both traditional Sri Lankan dishes and western favourites, depending on your preferences. Spend your days here relaxing by the swimming pool, wandering along the beach and exploring the spectacular coastline of this region, enjoying a disconnect from the stresses of daily life.
Accommodation
There are six ensuite bedrooms, two on the ground floor and four on the upper floor, housed in two interconnecting buildings. Each bedroom is fairly spacious with a large double bed, desk, drying rack and private balcony / veranda, and the ensuite bathrooms have a high-quality rainshower, a w/c and twin sinks. The rooms also include a useful guide on the activity and dining options in the area.
Facilities
Nilwella Palms has a swimming pool set in well-tended gardens which lead directly to the beach. The villa has Wi-Fi and is fully staffed, including a chef who is able to prepare a variety of dishes from authentic Sri Lankan cuisine to your favourite food from home. You are welcome to bring your own alcohol.
