Mosvold Villa

Introduction

Mosvold Villa is a 12-bedroom boutique villa fronting a secluded beach in the fishing village of Ahangama on Sri Lanka's Galle Coast. Set on a coconut grove, it is a peaceful holiday setting designed with a central courtyard, verandahs that skirt around, and well-appointed bedrooms with spectacular sea views. Interiors are decorated with bright colours and hardwood furniture designed along traditional lines. Relax in a hammock amidst swaying palms, go surfing or snorkelling, and indulge in sumptuous Sri Lankan cuisine. Mosvold Villa is an ideal setting for a romantic honeymoon, a family holiday, a private party or even an intimate wedding.

Accommodation

There are 12 well-appointed Standard, Superior and Deluxe rooms opening out to a verandah with sea views. Rooms are furnished with king-sized four-poster beds or twin beds. There is also a spacious family room as well as a honeymoon suite. Some of the rooms have interconnecting doorways making it easier for families. In-room facilities include a/c, overhead fans, minibar, tea/coffee facility, Wi-Fi internet, electronic safe and ensuite bathrooms with h/w rain showers.

Facilities

Sri Lankan cuisine prepared according to traditional southern recipes is served in the main restaurant which is set on a broad terrace overlooking the gardens and sea beyond. Dishes are prepared with fresh seafood purchased from the village fisherman and vegetables from the local market. Upon request, the chef will organise a BBQ, a romantic dinner on the beach, the poolside or even in the privacy of your own room. Enjoy a fresh juice or cocktails at the poolside bar. Other facilities include a swimming pool, room service until 10.30pm and laundry service. Mosvold Villa is well-organised to cater for a special event with prior notice.

Location

Ahangama is surfing territory, a convenient drive south from Galle’s 17C Dutch Fort, and an ideal location from which to experience the southern beaches and cultural heritage. The journey from Colombo’s international airport will take about 2.5 hours via the Southern highway or hop on an air taxi.
