Jetwing Lagoon

Introduction

Jetwing Lagoon is a confident and well-appointed hotel spreading across seven acres of tropical gardens edged by Negombo Lagoon. This spacious hotel boasts the longest swimming pool on Sri Lanka's north-west coast, spanning 130 metres. The influence of Geoffrey Bawa, Sri Lanka's most revered architect, is much in evidence in the confident pavilions at either end of the property and the atmospheric rooms which blend inside and outside living. Accommodation

Room categories include Deluxe Rooms, Bawa Rooms, Family Rooms and Suites. There is also a luxurious Honeymoon Suite. All rooms have a traditional Sri Lankan feel, well appointed, slightly dimly lit and with whites and beige dominating. All have king-sized beds. Family Rooms are more spacious and have an additional day bed. Suites consist of two bedrooms, one double and twin. Most of the bedrooms open on to pool views while some of the suites have scenic lagoon views. In-room facilities include a/c, overhead fans, satellite TV, IDD telephone, Wi-Fi, tea/coffee facility, mini-bar, electronic safe, room service and laundry service. DVD player, DVDs, and baby cots are available upon request. Although Jetwing Lagoon is situated just minutes away from the turquoise seas, due to undercurrents the ocean here is not suitable for swimming or snorkelling. The hotel focuses more on the picturesque Negombo Lagoon where boat rides are offered.

Dine at Geoffrey’s by the Lagoon, where some of Bawa's favourite seafood is on offer, or at the main restaurant, in the gardens or in the privacy of your own room. Sri Lankan and international cuisine is served buffet style or a la carte. There is also a moodily-lit bar and well stocked wine cellar. The in-house spa offers relaxing massages and beauty treatments. Other facilities include a 130 metre swimming pool, gym, doctor-on-call, gift shop and baby sitting service with prior notice.

Jetwing Lagoon enjoys a peaceful setting between the Indian Ocean and the Negombo Lagoon on the north-west coast, south of the coastal town of Negombo. It is just 20 minutes away from Colombo’s international airport in the village of Thalhena, which is 7km south of Negombo. Colombo is about an hour away.
