Ivory House

Introduction

The Ivory House is a spacious holiday villa set amidst tropical gardens. Relax on the verandah gazing out on to the paddy fields or by the poolside amidst lush foliage. This wonderful villa has a contemporary feel indoors with polished cement floors, grey trellised windows, whitewashed walls. Dutch period antiques combine with modern furniture and fittings. Living and dining rooms open to the front verandah. The luxurious ensuite bedrooms have garden views. There is a 20m swimming pool in gardens scattered with coconut palms and fruit trees that attracts numerous birds. The Ivory House is fully equipped and booked exclusively on a villa only basis. It can accommodate up to eight guests.

Accommodation

The four a/c suites are spacious and open out to the verandah and gardens. Two suites are furnished with king-size canopied antique beds and two have queen-size beds. Ensuite bathrooms have twin vanities, baths and h/w showers.

Facilities

Dining is indoors or outdoors on the verandah. Sri Lankan cuisine is served here prepared with locally purchased produce. Discuss your meal preferences ahead of time with the cook and he will shop and prepare. The swimming pool and the pool house is a short stroll away from the main house. Other facilities include satellite TV, DVD player, wifi and fully-equipped kitchen. Chef and housekeeping staff.

Location

Ivory House lies 10 minutes inland from the Galle coast in the village of Habaraduwa. Galle’s 17C Dutch Fort is 20 minutes away. The journey from Colombo’s International Airport will take about 2.5 hours via the Southern highway, or hop on an Air Taxi to Koggala which is a short distance from the villa. If you are then heading from the coast into the hills, we offer competitive rates on a daily sea plane between Koggala and Hatton.
