Introduction
Hotel Sigiriyaaya is a mid-market Jetwing property adjacent to its fabulous upmarket eco resort, Vil Uyana, and like its most illustrious neighbour benefiting from a tranquil atmosphere in lush paddy fields which offer dreamy sunrises and a captivating atmosphere as dusk falls. Jetwing has a long-proven ability to provide mid-market affordability alongside reliable and recognisable standards. This is perhaps one of its simpler, more stripped-to-basics offerings, but it has appeal for all that. You arrive through a confident entrance into an attractive pavilion with replicas of the Sigiriya lions on either side reminding you that you are now in the heart of Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle with the world-famous Lion Rock only a short drive away.
Accommodation
There are 16 good-sized rooms: 14 doubles and two twins, with a total area of about 34 sqm; the twin rooms have slightly smaller balconies. Each room has a private sitting area and en suite bathrooms are bright and modern. Rooms have a/c, telephone, mini fridge, tvs.
Facilities
The open-air kitchen is adjacent to an airy pavilion restaurant and has an authentic, traditional feel, serving traditional rice and curry as well as international favourites with a local flourish for a true Sri Lankan sensation. The swimming pool is a decent size for a hotel of this type and has sun loungers with shades as well as outdoor furniture. There is a laundry service, TVs and free wifi.
