Hideaway Arugam Bay

Introduction

Hideaway is a charming family-run guesthouse set on six-acres of lush tropical gardens in the heart of Arugam Bay on Sri Lanka's east coast.  This 14-room guesthouse has a youthful feel in an oasis of lush greenery. The owners share their lifestyle with their guests, such as by preparing delicious home-cooked meals, and are on hand to ensure you have a relaxing holiday. The restaurant serves Asian and Mediterranean fusion cuisine as well as traditional Sri Lankan dishes and is upheld as one of the best restaurants in town. Located just a short stroll away from the beach, Hideaway offers guests a true experience of Arugam Bay’s laid-back lifestyle.

Accommodation

There are seven cottages and seven double rooms (some with a/c) which open out to the landscaped gardens. Rooms are tastefully-decorated with vibrant local artwork and soft Indian furnishings and have a double bed fitted with mosquito netting and an ensuite bathroom have h/w shower.

Double Cottages: These four cottages are ideal for couples. They have a private veranda looking out to the gardens.

Family Cottages: There are three spacious family cottages that can accommodate up to four guests.

Main Villa Rooms: The upper floor of the main house has four doubles and one triple room. The lack of a/c is made up for by the broad veranda which offers views of the gardens. Overhead fans help to cool these rooms.

Double Rooms: The two a/c double rooms are housed in a two-storey villa set towards the front of the property. Rooms are spacious and furnished with built-in king-sized beds and lounge chairs on the terrace. The upper-floor bedroom has scenic ocean views.

Facilities

Relax on a day bed under a tree, on your veranda or in the lounge. In the evening, enjoy a drink at the cocktail bar as the garden is illuminated with twinkling lights. Dine at the restaurant which has become locally-renowned for its delicious cuisine.

Hideaway lies just across the road from the sun-kissed beaches of Sri Lanka's east coast town of Arugam Bay. It is centrally located close to the surf points, small shops and boutiques and beach-side cafes.
