Introduction
Haritha Villas & Spa is a sophisticated collection of upmarket villas in an attractive rural setting in Thiranagama, 1 km inland from the west coast resort of Hikkaduwa and so offering the perfect combination of Sri Lankan rural life within easy reach of the beaches. Here is a harmonious spot where well-to-do clients from around the world relax and recharge in a luxurious and attentive environment. The mood of a resort aimed at luxury clients is contemporary chic on a 5-acre hillside site that offers impeccable service and high levels of privacy with trees guarding the site on three sides and views west across paddy fields towards the nearby coast, affording excellent sunsets. Restricted to those 16 and above, Haritha Villas & Spa adds further lustre to Sri Lanka’s most luxurious collection.
Accommodation
Contemporary Villas (7): The contemporary villas are well named and eschew any colonial-style fripperies in favour of sleek, modern lines and extensive glass panels. Outdoor living is encouraged with a tiled seating area with modern sofa, chair and table and two built-in sunbeds on decking next to an individual plunge pool. A high degree of privacy adds to an impression of luxury. The indoor living area is 33 sq m with a further 24 sq m for the lounge/terrace. The entire area is 133 sq m.
Rooms have private saltwater plunge pool, outside dining area and lounge, queen-sized beds with high-quality linen and mosquito nets, a/c and ceiling fan, iPad, Bose speakers, TV, minibar, safe, Ophir toiletries, satin nightrobe and slippers, rainwater showers, toilet, bidet, hairdryer, espresso coffee machine and ta-making facilities, telephone, alarm clock, pillow menu.
Colonial Mansions (2): Two colonial mansions at a higher level have regal white columns and suit those seeking for a more traditional grandeur. Each mansion can house two couples, are spacious and also afford good privacy. Interior space is 180 sq m with a further 80 sq m for the living terrace and total expanse of 485 sq m.
The colonial mansions have similar facilities. Spacious outdoor bathrooms have separate shower areas and bath tub. Rather than private plunge pools, they share a good-sized infinity pool, which snakes between them, and have portable sunbeds.
Each villa or colonial mansion is assigned its own personal butler who is contacted on a local mobile loaned for that purpose; the butler can also join clients on request excursions or shopping trips.
Facilities
The Jungle Spa offers excellent facilities whether you wish to revitalise with spa, sauna, Ayurveda, a gymnasium or yoga. The spa offers massage, perhaps after a high-pressure Vichy shower, herbal and hot steam baths, sauna and Jacuzzi, manicure and pedicure. A consultation with our resident Ayurvedic doctor can be followed by a tailored menu for each guest. The gymnasium is open 24 hours. A yoga pavilion stands next to a small artificial lake. Another contemporary, low-slung building by the main pool divides into a restaurant and lounge area with library. Dining can take place in the restaurant or in the privacy of your own villa / mansion. Dishes make use of the organic garden, fresh fish is purchased daily and the resort offers homemade ice cream. The Haritha Colada is the signature drink among a list of cocktails and mocktails and a wine cellar (planned by mid-2020) aimed to provide tasting sessions of high-class wines. Movies or sport can be watched with bluetooth headsets to protect the serene atmosphere.
