Introduction
Haldummulla Estate Bungalow sits in a small walled garden amidst an organic 50-acre tea estate in Idalgashina a quiet corner of Sri Lanka’s southern highlands and is among the more value-for-money options among Sri Lanka’s tea country bungalows. It follows the classic look of a tea country bungalow in Sri Lanka’s highlands, designed in the old colonial-era style with a wrap-around balcony and bay windows. Its simple, homely atmosphere comes with traditional features such as four-poster beds and claw-foot bathtubs. Haldummulla Estate Bungalow is a good choice for active families who relish their own laid-back and unfussy space after a day spent roaming the hills. As well as great walking opportunities, guests can visit a local tea factory, or investigate the ruins of an ancient Portuguese Fort hidden within a pine forest. But many will just prefer to relax on the veranda with a good book while breathing in the fresh hill country air and watching monkeys scrambling through the trees.
Accommodation
The bungalow accommodates a maximum of six people plus another four in the adjoining Library Suite. It can also be booked by the room. All three rooms have shower and bath.
Double: One of the bungalow’s two double rooms, this room is furnished with a four-poster bed.

Facilities

The house is managed by a family of retired tea planters and Priya, the cook, serves traditional Sri Lankan cuisine, and can also rustle up simple pasta dishes if requested.
