Firsmead

Introduction

Firsmead is a luxurious bungalow nestled in mist-wrapped Nuwara Eliya, offering charming views of the Lake Gregory and surrounding hills. A few minutes from the centre of Nuwara Eliya, Firsmead is a convenient option for a traveller who wishes to explore this one-time colonial hill station. The bungalow comes complete with plenty of space and modern amenities.

From the sprawling garden with glimpses of Lake Gregory, to the cosy and thoughtfully decorated rooms, Firsmead is an accommodating and pleasant dwelling.

Accommodation

There are six rooms in the bungalow including one interconnecting family room. The rooms are spacious and have stately names ranging from Barnes to Maitland. They have wooden floors, king-sized beds (some have four poster beds) and writing desks. All have lake and mountain views and come with tea/coffee making facilities, 300 thread count bedding, safe and flat-screen TV. Attached bathrooms have h/w and rain shower, complimentary toiletries and hairdryer. Complimentary Wi-Fi is also available in rooms.

Barnes: Adorned with light floral touches, this room affords an uninterrupted view of the surrounding greenery.

Horton: Decorated in shades of pastel pinks, this rooms comes furnished with a four-poster bed. Guests can enjoy beautiful views of the hill country through the private terrace.

Anderson: This room is quite spacious and its interior features subtle lavender and green touches. The private terrace opens out stunning views of the Lake Gregory.

Gregory: This room is decked out in white. The room affords scenic views of the Lake Gregory.

Longden: This master bedroom features floral touches amidst white. Guests can enjoy garden views from this room.

Maitland: Adorned with amber and white interior, this room offers views of the Lake Gregory.

Facilities

There is a stately living room with a fireplace. There is also a spacious lounge area overlooking the heated pool.

Sri Lankan and western cuisine is served at Firsmead. The chef is also happy to prepare your choice of dishes, so discuss your meal preference ahead of time. Laundry services are also provided.

Firsmead overlooks Lake Gregory and is close to many interesting places in Nuwara Eliya including the Victoria Park, Hakgala Botanical Garden and Galway’s Land National Park.
