Coco Bay

Introduction

Coco Bay is a 12-room coastal hotel at Rumassala, close to Sri Lanka's popular beach resort of Unawatuna. Set away from the main beach strip, this modern hotel fronts a 200 metre strip of beach with views of Galle Fort lighthouse at a distance. Bright and colourful interiors offer well-equipped, spacious bedrooms with sea views; Sri Lankan cuisine and seafood specialities; a scenic beachside location and an inviting feel.

Accommodation

The 12 rooms and suites are housed on the ground and first floors and open on to private balconies with spectacular sea views. Vibrant interiors have king-size beds and lounge chairs. In-room facilities include a/c, overhead fans, IDD, satellite TV, mini-bar, tea/coffee facility, wifi, electronic safe, pillow and soap menus; bathrobe and slippers; room service and laundry service. Ensuite bathrooms have rain head h/w showers and Jacuzzis.

Sea Escape Deluxe Rooms (61 sq. metres):  These seven rooms are located on the first floor and offer all in-room facilities stated above. Bedrooms open on to a private balcony with a day bed and have beautiful sea views.

Ocean Privilege Master Suites (92 sq. metres):  These two suites are on the first floor and offers panoramic views of the ocean. These spacious suites consist of the bedroom and living space and feature king-size bed; broad balcony with day bed, in-room dining, and ensuite bathroom with Jacuzzi.

Aqua Romance Deluxe Suites (66 sq. metres): Located on the ground floor, these three rooms open on to a terrace and private plunge pool. These suites are ideal for a romantic escape and have spectacular sea views.

Facilities

Dine under the shade of coconut palms at the beachside restaurant `La Mer’ that serves up Sri Lankan cuisine, seafood specialties, snacks and pizzas. The colourful a/c lounge bar `Chill Out’ serves fresh juices, cocktails and other alcoholic beverages. Other hotel facilities include a swimming pool with children’s pool, gym, and free wifi throughout the hotel. The hotel also offers snorkelling, fishing, surfing, and diving in Unawatuna Bay. Safe swimming in the seas fronting the hotel is possible during the season from December to April.

Why We Like It

Coco Bay's own beach is much quieter than the main bay of Unawatuna.
