Introduction

Chaarya Resort & Spa is a mid-range hotel that offers clean and comfortable rooms in Tissamaharama in the deep south. It has a large restaurant that serves Sri Lankan, Indian and western cuisine. The a/c bedrooms are located over two floors in a horseshoe shaped, overlooking beautifully landscaped gardens and the central swimming pool. There is also a wellness centre that offers relaxing Ayurvedic massages.

Accommodation

There 40 rooms in total, 20 Deluxe Rooms and 20 Deluxe Chalets. All rooms have a/c and are furnished with a queen-sized bed. In-room facilities include: cable TV, telephone, electronic safe, tea/coffee facilities and a hair-dryer. There is also Wi-Fi and 24 hour room service. Ensuite bathrooms have h/w showers and bathtubs.

Facilities

There is a large dining area and bar that is also open to non-resident guests. A range of Sri Lankan cuisine, Indian vegetarian cuisine, and western dishes are served here. The swimming pool with a pool bar is set amidst lush tropical gardens. The small Ayurveda centre offers relaxing massages.

Large rooms with a good deal of privacy make this an attractive budget option in Tissa.

Located on the Tissa – Kataragama road, Chaarya Resort & Spa a convenient value-for-money location from which to explore the ancient temples of Tissa and the jungle shrine of Kataragama. Yala National Park is only 30 minutes away.
