Blue Water

Introduction

Blue Water is one of the jewels in Wadduwa, one of the closest beach resorts down the west coast from Colombo. Designed by Sri Lanka’s iconic architect, Geoffrey Bawa, the main theme of this family resort is the ambitious use of water, which gives the hotel its name. If you like water, you'll adore Blue Water. Mini ponds, streams, fountains and waterways are everywhere - and water even winds through the hotel lobby. Blue Water's swimming pool is one of the largest in the country, holding about five times the water normally found in a hotel pool. Dry land consists of 140 well-appointed rooms and suites, extensive gardens dotted with shady palm trees, and a 200m beach frontage beyond.

Accommodation

The 140 luxurious rooms and suites are categorized as Deluxe Rooms, Superior Deluxe Rooms, Club Suites, Suite Rooms and the Presidential Suite. Interiors are stylishly decorated and furnished with king-sized beds. All rooms open out to a private terrace or balcony with spectacular sea views. In-room facilities include a/c, overhead fans, tea/coffee facility, satellite TV, IDD telephone, Wi-Fi, mini-bar, electronic safe, bathrobe and slippers. Ensuite bathrooms have a bathtub and h/w shower.

Deluxe Rooms (420 sq. ft): The 83 Deluxe Rooms are equipped with all standard facilities above and open out to private balconies or terraces with sea views.

Superior Deluxe Rooms (528 sq. ft): Located on the second floor, there are 13 Superior Deluxe Rooms. Inaddtion to the standard facilities, these rooms have a glass paneled Jacuzzi.

Club Suite (682 sq. ft): Added in 2014, the 39 Club Suites consists of an ensuite bedroom, living and dining areas opening out to a balcony with sea views.

Executive Suite (726 sq. ft): The four Executive Suites are located on the top floor of the resort and provides for breathtaking sea views. These suites have separate living and dinning areas.

Presidential Suite (1,436 sq. ft): The luxurious Presidential Suite is designed with Burma Teak floors, deep walnut furniture, and local art. The suite consists of an ensuite bedroom, dining and living area opening out to spectacular sea views.

Facilities

Dine at the Seven Seas coffee shop or The Admiral restaurant, which serves Sri Lankan and international cuisine. Blue Water also offers signature dining experiences on the beach or in the privacy of your own room. There are three bars serving a range of wines, cocktails and other alcoholic beverages and a night club. Sports and recreation facilities include a large swimming pool, children’s swimming pool, fully-equipped gym, flood lit tennis courts, squash, table tennis, and billiards. The beautifully-designed Spa Pavilions offer a holistic approach to physical and spiritual wellbeing, as well as relaxing Ayurveda and Aromatherapy treatments using essential oils and medicinal herbs. Other hotel facilities include: a well-equipped business centre which can cater to up to 300 persons; hair and beauty salon; gem and jewellery shop; doctor-on-call, and baby sitting on request. Blue Water is also a great venue for beachside weddings and garden parties.
