Bandos Island Resort and Spa

Introduction

Bandos was one of the earliest resorts to open in the Maldives and has gradually grown into a stylish and relaxing destination with a great reputation for diving and water-based activities. Accommodation ranges from simple and airy standard rooms to the more exclusive Water Villas. Bandos has several good restaurants, cafes and bars serving international cuisine. Families travelling with young children will appreciate the Child Care Centre as well as the fun activities on offer at the Kid’s Club.

Accommodation

There are 224 rooms and water villas offering a range of accommodation options including rooms situated on the beachfront, amidst tropical gardens facing the pool or on the lagoon. All rooms have a/c, mini-bar, IDD, satellite TV, tea/coffee facility, and electronic safe. Rooms and villas are tastefully furnished and have ensuite bathrooms with h/w showers. Extra bedding is provided for all rooms upon request.

Standard Rooms (38 sq metres): The Standard Rooms have thatched roofs and wooden furniture. The rooms are on the beach front, but some may have limited sea views due to vegetation. Comfortably furnished with a double or twin beds, these rooms can accommodate up to 3 adults or 2 adults and a child.

Deluxe Rooms (54 sq metres): The Deluxe Rooms have a living room, bedroom, and bathroom with bath tub and h/w shower. Deluxe Rooms can accommodate up to 3 adults or 2 adults, 2 children and an infant.

Garden Villas (38 sq metres): The Garden villas are amidst trimmed hedges and flowering plants and overlook the swimming pool. These elegantly furnished wooden chalets have their own private patio and can accommodate up to 3 adults or 2 adults, one child and an infant.

Jacuzzi Villas (58 sq metres): The two storey Jacuzzi villas have a living room, deck and open air bathroom with a Jacuzzi and h/w shower on the ground floor. The bedroom opens out to a balcony with magnificent sea views and can accommodate up to 3 adults or 2 adults and one child.

Water villas (117 sq metres): The luxurious water villas have a spacious bedroom, living room, sun-deck and ensuite bathroom with Jacuzzi and open air shower with h/w. Water villas can accommodate up to 3 adults or 2 adults and an infant.

Facilities

Bandos has extensive restaurant and bar facilities. If you are in the mood for Thai, try the Koon Thai Restaurant or the Gallery Restaurant for buffet style meals or the more informal Sea Breeze Café with a large timber deck over the water for a spot of casual dining. Open round the clock, the café serves light snacks to Italian and Indian cuisine. Nightly entertainment at the Sand Bar includes a disco, live performances and traditional Maldivian shows. Take in the breath-taking Maldivian sunsets, relax under a romantic star-filled sky on the deck of the Sundowners Bar or visit the spa.

A water sports centre offers everything from snorkelling and diving to wakeboarding and canoeing. There is a fully-equipped gymnasium, swimming pool and floodlit tennis courts. A Kid’s Club and Child Care Centre will keep children entertained in safe surroundings.
