Ambalama

Introduction

Ambalama is a charming four-bedroom beach villa south of the historic Sri Lanka town of Galle which is ideal for a family holiday. Enter the house and be mesmerized by spectacular views of the Indian Ocean framed by antique wooden doors. The spacious living and dining area opens out to a stoned pool terrace with an infinity pool. Cream terrazzo floors and high ceilings encourage cool airflow. The four bedrooms are comfortably furnished and have spectacular sea views. Amabalama is booked as a whole villa and can accommodate up to eight guests.

Accommodation

Ambalama has three double rooms and one twin room all with a/c and direct sea views. The double rooms are furnished with king-size four-poster beds fitted with mosquito netting. There are also additional day beds that are suitable for children. Ensuite bathrooms have twin vanities and h/w showers. The double rooms also have Bali style outdoor showers.

Facilities

The living area is well furnished with large sofas and additional seating. Sun loungers are available for relaxing by the poolside. Dine indoors at the large round table with seating for 10 or enjoy breakfasts and dinners outside on the pool terrace around a 10 seater teak table. There is a fully equipped kitchen where the in-house chef prepares Sri Lankan and international cuisine using fresh local produce. Discuss your meal preferences with the chef ahead of time. Other villa facilities include WiFi throughout the villa and relaxing massages with prior notice. A team of English speaking staff including a Manager cum Chef, three houseboys, a gardener and nightwatchman are at the villa to ensure guests have a relaxing holiday.

Location

Ambalama is situated on a pristine beach in the fishing village of Dalawella, just 7 kms south of the historic city of Galle. The journey from Colombo’s international airport will take about 2.5 hours. Avoid road travel and consider taking the Air Taxi from Colombo Airport to Koggala which is just a few minutes away.
