Introduction

Amaranthe Bay Resort and Spa, opened in 2015, sits by the Pillaikulam Aru river, walking distance from the beautiful beaches of Sri Lanka’s east coast. Although Amaranthe Bay does not have a beach of its own, the nearest beach stretch is only a five minute walk away and is easily accessible. This luxury accommodation is comprised of 25 bedrooms and sits on the edge of a sprawling coconut grove, a perfect property for those looking for privacy and relaxation in beautiful surroundings.

Accommodation

Amaranthe Bay has 24 Junior Suites and one Executive Suite. Some rooms are located on the ground floor, providing easy access for the differently abled.

Junior Suites: Spacious bedrooms with an ensuite bathroom replete with a jacuzzi overlooking the pool and h/w rainwater shower. The rooms are furnished with a king-sized bed or twin beds and have a separate seating area with a TV and a balcony looking out over the river. High ceilings, teak wooden floors and large window frames emphasise space and elegant luxury.

Executive Suite: Its sheer extent exudes luxury. Additional facilities include an outdoor jacuzzi and alfresco dining area near the pool. The suite is beautifully furnished and has a king-sized bed and an ensuite bathroom, complete with his and her shower basin and h/w rain shower.

All suites are equipped with touch panel switches and motion and body heat sensors that control the lights and air-conditioning in the room.

Facilities

There are several dining and lounge areas: Bibliotheque, the fine-dining restaurant that offers delicious local and international dishes with an emphasis on fresh seafood; Board Walk, the alfresco dining area/pool bar which is furnished with bean bags; Wild Bar, a sports/entertainment bar surrounded by new-age graffiti which serves up signature cocktails and finger food, and Bee Lounge, a kid’s area complete with a selection of board games, a TV, a Play Station 4 and a variety of sweets, where parents can leave their children under the care of an experienced staff member.

The hotel also has a large swimming pool surrounded by sunbeds and a spa offering a range of treatments such as body massages, foot therapies, manicures and pedicures.
