Jetwing Yala

Introduction

Jetwing Yala is a stylish, eco-friendly holiday resort spread across 38 acres of parklands and woodlands near the entrance to Yala game park in Sri Lanka's south-east. It offers luxurious accommodation in 80 Deluxe Rooms and 10 Tented Villas set amidst nature. Rise early and set off on a jeep safari in search of wild elephants, sloth bear, mugger crocodiles and the elusive leopard. Once back at the hotel, relax by the poolside and indulge in authentic local cuisine.

NOTE: Sea fronting the hotel is deep and not safe for swimming.

Accommodation

Deluxe Rooms and Family Suite: The 80 Deluxe Rooms have private balconies looking out to the sea and surrounding wilderness. All rooms have a/c, overhead fans, IDD, mini-bar, tea/coffee facility, satellite TV, wifi, electronic safe, and ensuite bathrooms with h/w showers. Baby cots and DVD players available upon request. 10 Deluxe rooms have wheelchair access. There is also a spacious Family Suite with a separate bedroom, sitting and dining facilities.

Tented Villas:The 10 Tented Villas are situated away from the main resort and provide an experience of living with nature without conceding basic comforts. They are set on raised timber shelters on stilts with thatched roof and consist of a bedroom opening out to a timber deck and bathroom with attached outdoor shower. Tent interiors are well designed and furnished with king-size beds. The timber decks have sun loungers and a dining table. In-room facilities include a/c, overhead fans, mini-bar, tea and coffee facility and in-room safe. There is also a personal butler, room service and 24-hour security. Guests staying at the tented villas have access to all resort facilities.

Facilities

Dine on Sri Lankan and Asian inspired cuisine at the main dining Room. There is also alfresco dining and in-room dining. Pool bar and Living Room bar. Dine within the privacy of your own villa, outdoors on the sand dunes under a starlit sky or at the main restaurant. Beach BBQs can be arranged with prior notice. Large swimming pool, room service, laundry service, baby sitting service with prior notice, and doctor-on-call. Activities include village walks and biking; bird trails in Bundala, visit to the ancient Sithulpauwa temple and Debarawewa.

Location

Jetwing Yala has a coastal position in Kirinda, about 3 kms away from the entrance to Yala National Park. Yala can be accessed via the south coast and from the hill country via Wellawaya. Reduce road travel by taking a flight transfer from Colombo’s international airport to Hambantota, 35kms from Yala.
