Introduction

Jetwing Surf is far enough from the busy streets of Arugam Bay, Sri Lanka's east coast surfing haven, for a sense of tranquillity, yet also close enough to enjoy the waves. It offers a comfortable, eco-friendly haven on this part of Sri Lanka's East coast. Built on a minimum carbon footprint, Jetwing Surf was the recipient of the Best Hotel Architectural Design title at the Asia Property Awards 2017. Accommodation

Jetwing Surf has made a bold move with natural ventilation to strive towards minimal carbon footprint, and the 20 simple yet elegant cabanas are a testament to their efforts. Each spacious cabana, with its circular shape and conical roof, is made using wood, palm leaves and iluk grass, opens out to an extensive deck where one can enjoy the gorgeous ocean views past the swaying coconut trees.

Each cabana has an option between indoor or outdoor showers. The room also consists of two built-in seating areas furnished with comfy cushions, which if necessary, can be converted into beds for those travelling with children. There is also a fan for when the breeze may not quite suffice and the mosquito-netted four poster beds will ensure a good night’s sleep. Free Wi-Fi and 24-hour room service is also available.

Facilities

In addition to being just a stone’s throw away from some of the best surf breaks in the island, Jetwing Surf also has an inviting infinity swimming pool, complete with pool loungers and two built-in seating areas. Yoga lessons are also available on request.

The hotel offers several options for dining. The Main Restaurant is a large open space under a beautiful thatched roof. Choose from a range of world cuisines, presented skilfully and prepared to perfection. Seafood is a must-try, so don’t miss out on some exceptional local dishes. The Pool Bar offers a host of snacks and drinks or perhaps choose from one of the four Signature Dining options that Jetwing Surf offers.

Located about 15 minutes from Arugam Bay’s busy stretch and about three hours from Pasikudah, Jetwing Surf works as an ideal stop to or from Ella which is three hours away, or Gal Oya which is two hours away.
