Taru Villas - The Tangalle Social

Introduction

The Tangalle Social is perched by a secluded stretch of the Mawella beach in Tangalle, on Sri Lanka's south coast, and overlooks a lush garden to the stunning Indian Ocean, This three-bedroom boutique hotel is managed by the highly-regarded Taru group and is flanked by two of the boutique group's sister properties: Mawella and Kurumba House. A contemporary hotel that is ideal for friends or small groups.

The ground floor is occupied by the living area, restaurant and bar with direct access to the swimming pool, garden and the beach. The three bedrooms are on the first floor and open on to a private balcony which affords spectacular views.

Accommodation

The three Deluxe rooms are spacious and are decorated in shades of white and grey and open on to a private balcony with a sitting area. The rooms are furnished with wardrobe space, writing desk, cable TV and twin beds with a large vibrant painting just above the headboard adding colour to minimalistic décor. In-room facilities include: A/C, overhead fan, Wi-Fi, coffee and tea making facility and mini-fridge. Ensuite bathrooms have h/w rain showers.

Facilities

The ground floor includes a spacious living area with a pool table and TV corner and the restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating in the patio and garden, offers a mix of Sri Lankan and international cuisines and welcomes guests for lunch stopovers. The bar serves a variety of cocktails and spirits. The hotel has a swimming pool overlooking the garden and sunbeds for those who want to soak up the sun during the day.

Location

The Tangalle Social is 3.5 hrs from the Colombo International Airport, 2.5 hrs from the Yala National Park and is about a 2 hr journey from the Galle Fort. It serves as a good midway point for a lunch stopover from Yala to Galle.
