Habaraduwa House

Introduction

Habaraduwa House is a spacious four-bedroom beach villa on Sri Lanka's Galle Coast with polished stone flooring, high timber ceilings and tall glass windows. Stylish interiors have Dutch period antiques and modern fittings. Local art and sculptures adorns the walls. The villa is set on a coconut grove leading to a broad, secluded beach frontage. Seas are relatively safe during the season from December to April. Habaraduwa House can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests and is rented exclusively to one party

Accommodation

Three of the bedrooms open out to the swimming pool, gardens and the ocean beyond. These bedrooms are furnished with king-size four-poster beds. The fourth bedroom is situated above the kitchen and has sea views. This bedroom is furnished with twin four-poster beds. In-room facilities include a/c, overhead fans, safes, hair dryers, and ensuite bathrooms with h/w showers. Two of the ocean front bedrooms have outdoor showers as well

Facilities

The living room with tall glass French windows opens out to a terrace above the pool with spectacular sea views. There is an open sided ambalama in the garden for dining and lounging. Sri Lankan and western cuisine is served. Other facilities include a games room with large Plasma screen TV with satellite channels, DVD player and DVD library, a footie table, card table, and a selection of board games; swimming pool and pool deck with sun lounges; wifi throughout; and massage with prior notice.

Why We Like It

The games room has ceiling fans, squashy sofas, film posters and a large flatscreen TV hidden within an antique cupboard.

Location

Habaraduwa House fronts a pristine stretch of beach in the village of Habaraduwa on the Galle Coast. Galle is only 15 minutes away. The journey from Colombo’s international airport will take about 2.5 hours via the Southern highway, or take the air taxi to Koggala lake. If you are then heading from the coast into the hills, we offer competitive rates on a daily sea plane between Koggala and Hatton.
