Introduction

Grand Udawalawe Safari Resort is a welcome addition to the Uda Walawe area where accommodation options are limited. Set in seven acres of lush tropical gardens, the hotel spreads across two separate buildings linked by an overhead bridge with a winding waterway below. Well-appointed bedrooms and suites are housed in one building while a spacious restaurant is in the other. The gardens are scattered with tall tropical trees that attract numerous birds and the occasional monkey. Rise at dawn and venture off on a wildlife safari. Once back at the hotel, relax by the poolside and take in the peaceful surroundings.

Accommodation

There are 57 bedrooms and suites spread across three wings named Forest Wing, Stream Wing and Pool Wing. All bedrooms open on to private terraces or balconies with garden views. In-room facilities include a/c, overhead fan, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, IDD telephone, tea/coffee facilities, mini-fridge and safety locker.

Deluxe Rooms: These ground floor rooms have private terraces. Ensuite bathrooms have h/w showers.

Superior Rooms: These rooms are located on the second floor and have wooden floors. The Superior Rooms open out to private balconies and have ensuite bathrooms with bath tubs and h/w showers.

Suites: The four spacious suites are located on the second floor. Each consists of a separate living area, pantry and dressing room. Ensuite bathrooms have twin vanities and a Jacuzzi.

Facilities

Dine on Sri Lankan and western cuisine at the main restaurant. There is also 24-hour room service. Other hotel facilities include a gym, business centre, conference room, banquet hall, gift shop, swimming pool and a separate children’s pool.
