Elysium

Introduction

Elysium is a stylish tropical beach house - a small resort in itself - in Galle's upmarket beach settlement of Thalpe and is ideal for families or friends travelling together. Lounging and formal dining is in the main building while the luxurious suites are housed in separate chalets opening on to the swimming pool and gardens. Interiors are tastefully decorated with neutral tones and are well equipped to keep adults and children alike entertained both indoors and out. There is even a private air-conditioned gym for those needing a Western-style workout rather than a run down the beach. Bask in the sun by the pool, dine under the stars at the edge of the sea, go swimming or snorkelling, and during a tropical shower put your feet up and watch a movie at the home cinema room. Elysium can comfortably accommodate upto eight adults and eight children.

Accommodation

Suites: Four spacious suites are housed in separate chalets that open out to the swimming pool. Two of these have direct sea views. All four rooms are furnished with built in king-size beds. Ensuite bathrooms have h/w showers and twin vanities.

Children’s Room: The spacious children's room is furnished with four bunk beds that can accommodate eight children. There is also cable TV. Ensuite bathroom has h/w shower.

Facilities

Enter through a walkway lined with a lotus-filled pond and lush green gardens. The ground floor of the main building consists of a lounge and formal dining area with a circular dining table. Adjoining is a home cinema with cable TV, DVD, and surround sound. Upper floors consist of a spacious living room with surrounding windows that provides spectacular views of the swimming pool, gardens and the Indian Ocean beyond. There is also a library and study area on this floor. Other villa facilities include a 50-metre swimming pool with a shallow end for children and sundeck; fully equipped gym, spa room where relaxing massages are possible with prior notice, and wifi internet coverage. The tropical gardens leading to the sea are scattered with flowering plants and coconut trees. There is a garden pavilion by the beach for alfresco dining and lounging about. Sri Lankan and international cuisine is served at Elysium prepared with local vegetables and fresh seafood purchased from the village fisherman. Discuss your meal preferences with the chef ahead of time. A team of staff including a manager, chef and house keeping staff will ensure you have a relaxing holiday.

Location

Elysium is a luxurious five-bedroomed beach villa spread over an acre of land fronting the turquoise seas in Thalpe. The historic Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is just 8 kms away. The journey from Colombo’s international airport will take about two hours via the Southern highway. Avoid road travel and hop on board an Air Taxi which lands in Koggala just 10 minutes away from the villa.
