Introduction
Claughton House is a five-bedroom beach villa perched on a hilltop looking down on to the spectacular Tangalle Bay in Sri Lanka's deep south. It was designed by Sri Lanka’s iconic architect, the late Geoffrey Bawa, in 1984, and has his signature verandas, courtyards and open-sided pavilions. The villa is set on eight acres of tropical gardens scattered with coconut palms and has access to a secluded stretch of beach, suitable for swimming and snorkelling between December and April. A Yoga shala, swimming pool and pool pavilion are located at lower levels in the sprawling gardens. This three-bedroom villa is tastefully furnished and is booked on a villa only basis. It can accommodate up to eight adults and three children.
